I hate writing query letters. They suck. Really badly. They're the worst things in the world.
Sorry that was just me getting my frustration out. I told you that my latest version of my query was going to be ripped apart. Well it was. And I'm happy that people took the time to help me out, but I'm almost out of ideas on what to write. I'm stripping down the book to one plot point and at this point I'm trying to just make it enticing rather than follow a formula. Because it's not working.
Okay, I have to go dive back in. Wish me luck.

I hate writing query letters also. I wrote dozens of different ones last year trying to get an agent for my first novel, but they all flopped. This year, I'm taking some time to revise the novel and shorten it before I send it out again, but I think most of my reason for doing so comes from not wanting to write any more queries.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to revise my book as well (although I'm going to probably make it longer in my case!). I think if I revise my book I might have a way to write the query clearer. Hopefully. I'm already dreading writing a query for my project.
